Hays Police Chief Don Scheibler told Hays Post that the 59-year-old man arrested and taken into protective custody after barricading himself in a room at Hays Med ical Center has been sent to Larned State Hospital for evaluation. Hospital Security in conjunction with police diverted the man’s attention and forced themselves into the room. No one was injured.
