The White House made it official today. It will award the Medal of Honor to Father Emil Kapaun. He was an Army Chaplin from Kansas and will receive the posthumous medal during a White House Ceremony on April 11. Kapaun stayed behind to help wounded soldiers during a Korean War battle in 1950 even though he knew he would be captured. He died months later in a POW camp.
