A new Pope has been elected.

The leader of the world’s 1.2 Billion Catholics is Cardinal Bergoglio from Buenos Aires, Argentina.

He will be called Francis.

He is 76 years old and had been a Cardinal for over 12 years.

His father was an Italian immigrant and he has four brothers and sisters.

Throughout history 80% of all Popes have been from Italy.

No Conclave has lasted over 5 days since 1831 when the decision took 54 days.
