The Ellis City Council meeting on Monday was lengthy.
City Council Member Martin LaBarge resigned citing time constraints. Mayor Dave McDaniel read LeBarge’s letter of resignation to those assembled.
In addition, Public Works Director Steve Ferland and a member of the city sanitation staff resigned.
City clerk Amy Burton told Hays Post, “the city will begin advertising immediately to fill the public works position and will also fill the other open position on city staff.
The city does have 3 open seats on the council, the Mayor, and Treasurer all up for election next month.
