Arrests have been made in the attack on a Salina cab driver Thursday evening.

According to a release from Salina Police Lt. Scott Siemsen, 28 year old Jason Kenneth of Salina and 24 year old Robert A Simmons of Salina will be charged with attempted 1st degree murder, attempted aggravated robbery, and aggravated battery.
Kenneth was arrested around 8:00am Friday morning, and Simmons was arrested around 5:00pm at the bus depot at 671 Westport Blvd.
Their arrest is in connection with an incident about 7:45pm Thursday evening near Pacific Park at 12th and Pacific streets where one of the two stabbed a 60 year old cab driver Jay Waiton of Culver multiple times in the face and head and stole his cell phone. Waiton had picked the two up near the park, took them to a location in north Salina and then returned them to the area of the park where he was attacked by the one who was sitting in the back seat.
Waiton who sustained a serious eye wound was taken to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, after getting treatment from Salina EMS and Salina Regional Health Center.
Bond for both me has been set at $1,000,000.
