Special Night For Law Enforcement

Screen Shot 2013-03-21 at 8.33.37 PMLaw Enforcement officers from across the state of Kansas participated in Thursday night’s Special Olympics opening ceremonies at Gross Coliseum.

“We had over 20 officers from around the state,” Hays Police Chief Don Scheibler told Hays Post.

Hays Police Department Investigator Bill Lovewell has been participating in the Special Olympics activities for many years.

“We email or call law enforcement agencies who also are a part of the annual Kansas Law Enforcement Torch Run,” Lovewell told Hays Post.

“Officers came from as far as McPherson this year and members of the Ellis County Sheriff’s Department, Ellis Police Department, FHSU Police Department, and The Kansas Highway Patrol were on hand.”
