Fort Hays State softball is ranked No. 17 in the latest NFCA Division II Top 25 Poll, released on Wednesday. The Tigers dropped six spots in the rankings after a pair of losses last week amid a six game stretch in which they went 4-2.
Fort Hays State entered the poll for the first time in the school’s NCAA history three weeks ago on March 13 at No. 21 in the nation. Following a 4-0 week on the road in conference play, FHSU jumped all the way to No. 11 in last week’s poll, before sliding back to No. 17 this week.
Fort Hays State is one of three schools from the MIAA referenced in the Top 25 this week, which includes Central Oklahoma at No. 9 and Missouri Western at No. 24.
The Tigers return to conference action this week with a pair of road doubleheaders at Truman and Lindenwood. Following the trip, FHSU returns home for six consecutive doubleheaders. The Tigers have only played four contests at home so far this season.
