Luke Bryan is set to co-host the ACM Awards with Blake Shelton April 7, and this marks the first time Luke has co-hosted a major, live awards show. He co-hosted last summer’s CMA Music Festival special with Kimberly Perry though, and she thinks he has what it takes for that big job.
Kimberly tells ABC News Radio, “I mean, the guy’s never met a stranger, and Luke certainly has a huge personality.”
While Kimberly has no doubts about Luke’s hosting skills, she warns him that he needs to be a little tidier backstage at the show. While they were getting ready to do some interviews promoting the CMA Music Festival, Luke made quite a mess in the common area between his and Kimberly’s dressing rooms.
She says, “Luke’s clothes were kind of strewn all out in the middle space, including his camouflage underwear. I’m not sure why he wasn’t wearing them, but they were on the floor.”
Kimberly adds, “I just want to remind him to please put those away, because I don’t know that Blake Shelton will be as forgiving on stage about that as I was.”
The 48th Annual ACM Awards will be handed out live from Las Vegas Sunday, April 7 on CBS. Look for The Band Perry’s sophomore album, Pioneer, in stores next week.
