The city or town where the school is located also is important according to the American Institute for Economic Research (AIER) today from results in its 2012-2013 “AIER College Destinations Index” (AIER CDI).  Among factors considered are student diversity, unemployment rate, degree attainment and earnings.  Lawrence, Kansas came in at # 8 and Manhattan was #14.
