Principal Resigns

dewittTMP-Marian Principal Bill DeWitt announced his resignation Tuesday morning. He is returning to Lawrence. He told Hays Post, “I will finish my contract that ends this summer and I will take a similar job with Lawrence High School. I want to make sure things are in place for next year at TMP before we move. My wife and I are KU graduates, our children were born in Lawrence. It was beautiful to come back to Hays and to do what we’ve done.”

DeWitt, 39, graduated from the University of Kansas with degrees in Philosophy, Psychology, and Secondary Education. He began his teaching career in the town of Tonganoxie, Kansas.

In the spring of 2009, he completed a Masters in Education Administration at the University of Kansas.

“I was not looking for an opportunity but I can’t pass up an opportunity to return to Lawrence.”

A search committee will be formed and overseen by the TMP-Marian Board of Trustees to find a successor for DeWitt.
