According to Science teach Cheryl Shepard Adams, “HHS Students placed well within their categories! All are freshmen.
Hays High didn’t qualify anyone for the Intel competition this year. There were 176 projects this years spread out over all the categories, including many intimidating projects from a Shawnee Mission school that specializes in biotech.” These HHS students placed in the top 3 and the title of their project.
Kinsey Ackerman: 1st place, Behavioral Sciences, “The Effect of BMI on Placing for ‘Dancing With The Stars’ ”
Morgan Klaus & Madison Prough: 2nd place, Physics, “The Effect of Heel Heights on Foot Pressures”
Nicole Dinkel & Kayla Hitchcock: 2nd place, Zoology, “The Effect of Energy Drinks on Crickets”
Kacie Brous: tie 3rd place, Physics: “What Substances Help Nail Polish Dry Faster?”
Ben Morley: tie 3rd place, Physics: “The Effect of Drag on Swimmers”
According to Adams, “These kids and their parents did a *ton* of work to prepare for this competition. They represented HHS very well, and we can be very proud of them!”
