Kansas Governor Sam Brownback Thursday officially announced numerous appointments to boards and commissions.
“I appreciate the willingness of these Kansans to share their time and talents improving the State of Kansas,” Governor Brownback said. Those appointments included Dr. Curt Brungardt of Hays to the Governor’s Domestic Violence Fatality Review Board
Curtis Brungardt is being appointed to serve at the pleasure of the Governor. Dr. Brungardt received his bachelor’s and master’s degree in Political Science from Fort Hays State University, and he went on to earn his doctorate of Philosophy from Kansas State University. He currently serves as the Voss Distinguished Professor of Leadership Studies and Director of the Center for Civic Leadership at Fort Hays State University.
Executive Order 04-11 was signed in 2004 establishing the 14-member Governor’s Domestic Violence Fatality Review Board. The Board is charged with reviewing all adult domestic violence-related fatalities in Kansas, describing trends and patterns regarding the facts and circumstances of these fatalities, recommending improvements to prevent future fatalities and determining if adequate resources and trainings are in place for those who respond to domestic violence crimes.
