Hays NEA 2013 Master Teacher of the Year is Tara O’Connor.

She has taught in the USD 489 school district for 16 years. She currently teaches science and communications at Hays Middle School.

Other finalists from the district that were honorably recognized this year are Linda Lang and Jenny Prine (Lincoln), Gina Johnson (O’Loughlin), Rita Legleiter (Roosevelt), Stacie Zimmerman (Wilson), Dayna Crawford (Washington), Desirae Kinderknecht (HHS), Robin Henman (Special Education, USD 489).

Tara will be honored at the Hays NEA Master Teacher / Retiree Banquet on April 30th.
