Anne Pfeifer has been appointed the Ellis County Treasurer a littler earlier than expected. Pfeifer took office April 1, 2013, replacing Mike Billinger who did not seek re-election.

Pfeifer ran unopposed for the office.

Pfeifer told Hays Post she looks forward to many years of serving the community and the county. Pfeifer had served as accounting manager for the Ellis County Treasurer’s office for two years. She also wanted to remind everyone second half taxes are due may 10th.

Pfeifer’s term was not officially set to begin until first Tuesday of October unlike other elected officials that begin their term in January
