A group of High School students from USD 224, Clifton-Clyde was on their way home from the student art Exhibit at Fort Hays State University on Wednesday when they were involved in an accident on I-70 east of Russell. The highway near mile post 189 was covered with hail. Twenty nine year old Laura Kay Stunkel lost control of the school’s suburban and slid into an Olds Alero driven by 53 year old Melinda Smith of Shawnee Kansas. The Suburban rolled onto its top and came to rest on the right shoulder. Stunkel, Smith and six students 18 year old Kegan Hubert, 18 year old Jonathan Douley, 15 year old Autumn Sorell, 15 year old Linney Haas,  16 year old Dorian Girard, and 16 year old Tsai Yichi were taken to Russell Regional Hospital.
