This week, U.S. Senator Jerry Moran (R-Kan.) was honored by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) as a 2013 recipient of the CEA Digital Patriot Award.

“Senator Moran represents one of America’s new technology hotbeds, ‘the Silicon Prairie,’” said Michael Petricone of the CEA. “And he is a fierce advocate for pro-innovation, pro-technology policies.”

“We’re pursuing polices that create opportunities for the American Dream to be lived in America,” Sen. Moran said upon receiving the award. “Our country is involved in innovation because our country came into existence because of a love, a need, a desire, a respect for freedom and liberty. And in a place where freedom and liberty is respected and honored, we can innovate. And you have every reason to be optimists. Because of what you do, our country has a bright future.”
