A WaKeeney Man died Wednesday in a two vehicle accident near Scott City. Fifty eight year old Timothy Allen Smith was driving a 1995 Freightliner truck west bound on K-96 when he hit a 2002 Mack Truck that was traveling north on Indian Road.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, the Mack truck rolled onto its top and came to rest in the north ditch on the north side of K96. Smith’s truck came to rest in the north ditch and caught fire.
The driver of the Mack Truck, twenty-five year old Christopher Thomas Koger of Ness City was taken to Scott County Hospital. He had been wearing a seat belt. Smith died at the scene.
