A 42 year old Ellis woman was injured in a rear end collision Thursday afternoon. Kathryn Leigh McGonigal of Ellis, driving a Pontiac Sunfire, was stopped to make a left turn at the 183 Alternate, 1.7 miles south of the Interstate. She was struck from behind by a 2004 Dodge Durango driven by 77 year old Gerald Joseph Vitzum of Hays. He was not injured. McGonigal was transported to Hays Medical Center. They were both wearing seat belts.
