If you have visited the Ellis County Humane Society in the last thirteen years, you have probably been greeted by a friendly orange tabby named Morris. Believe it or not Morris has turned 25-years-old!

Morris celebrated his birthday with a vanilla and chocolate cake, cookies, punch and several friends from around the community. “Morris is our official mascot!” says Betty Hansen, Ellis County Humane Society Shelter Director. “He likes to walk around out front so he is normally the first thing people see when they visit the shelter.”

The oldest living cat on record, Crème Puff, died at age 38. “Morris is both healthy and happy, so we’ll see if he can break that record!” said Hansen.
