(AP) — A former Wichita police officer has been sentenced to life for sexually abusing a 15-month-old girl.
Thirty-two year-old Greg P. Nicks was given a life sentence Friday on each of four counts of sexual exploitation of a child. He was also ordered to serve two of the sentences consecutively, and has to serve 50 years before becoming eligible for parole.
Prosecutors said Nicks was arrested after sending sexually explicit cellphone pictures of himself and the girl to a woman. The woman, Luz Coronado, is serving a sentence of life without parole for 25 years on similar charges.
Nicks worked for the Wichita Police Department for about three years beginning in 2006.
