The red carpet was rolled out for Ellis and Rush county residents for the annual Relay for Life cancer survivor’s dinner at Victoria Elementary School.

The special evening was organized to give survivors a chance to visit, have a night out and celebrate their victories over cancer. “It’s important for all of us to be able to come together and celebrate,” states Mary Befort, a cancer survivor and event organizer. “That is what tonight is really about: celebrating life.” Those in attendance were treated to popcorn, a gourmet dinner, sundae bar, games and prizes. The group will come together again on the evening of June 7th for the survivor’s lap of the Relay for Life.
