A contingent of approximately 30 Kansas legislators will be fishing at Milford Lake, near Manhattan today.
The event sponsored by the Independent Association of Kansas Insurance Agents and supported by the Geary County Convention and Visitor’s Bureau is called the Larry McGill Sportsman’s Challenge.
The Assistant Director for the Geary County Convention and Visitor’s Bureau Rick Dykstra expects 24 to 27 boats to be on the lake. “They’re just going to have a fun day of fishing. I think they’re going to fish for everything from white bass to wipers to catfish.”
The legislators will fish from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Weigh-in for the catch and release tournament is scheduled at 3:30 p.m. at the Milford Lake Marina in Milford State Park.
Milford Lake is the largest man-made lake in Kansas with 15,700 acres of water.
