The Hays Police Department conducted 42 traffic stops and received 16 animal calls between Friday morning and Sunday night, according to the Hays Police Activity Log.
Theft: The Hays Police Department investigated two theft reports on Friday and one on Saturday. The first theft was reported in the 400 block of West 19th Street and occurred between 8:45 and 9:10 a.m. Friday. The second theft was reported Friday afternoon at 12:32 in the 4300 block of Vine Street. The final theft was reported in connection with a civil dispute in the 2700 block of Vine Street Saturday afternoon at 1:40.
Burglary: The Hays PD investigated three burglary reports over the weekend. The first was reported, in connection with the report of suspicious activity in the 500 block of West 19th Street and occurred between April 19th and Friday and 8:00 p.m. The burglary of a residence was reported Saturday in the 3700 block of Country Lane. The alleged burglary occurred between 9:00 p.m. on Friday and 7:00 a.m. on Saturday. A second burglary of a residence was reported in the 500 block of Halladay Street and occurred between Saturday at 9:00 p.m. and Sunday morning at 2:00.
Driving Under the Influence: Police Officers conducted four driving under the influence stops over the weekend. The first two stops were conducted early Friday morning. The first DUI stop was conducted after the Hays PD received the report of a reckless driver in the 200 block of West 10th Street at 12:11 a.m. The second DUI Friday morning was reported in the 500 block of West 7th Street at 2:01 a.m. Saturday officers conducted a DUI stop in the 1100 block of Oak Street Saturday morning at 12:14. The final driving under the influence stop was conducted in the 900 block of Ash Street Sunday morning at 12:31.
Drug Offenses: Officers conducted four drug offense investigations between Friday morning and Sunday morning. The first was reported in the 300 block of Ash Street Friday morning at 3:49. The second drug offense was investigated after the Hays PD responded to a noise report Saturday morning at 2:59 in the 700 block of West 12th Street. A third drug offense was investigated Sunday morning in the 1500 block of Fort Street at 1:41. Officers also responded to a noise complaint in the 1000 block of 40 Bypass Highway in the early morning Sunday. Officers began an investigation into drug offenses in connection with the noise complaint Sunday between 2:15 and 5:31 a.m.
Battery: The Hays PD investigated a report of simple battery in the 300 block of West 6th Street Friday morning between 2:40 and 3:53.
Civil Dispute: Officer responded to a civil dispute in the 2500 block of Indian Trail Saturday at 7:19 a.m.
Overdose: The Hays DP investigated the report of an overdose Saturday night at 7:56 in the 2200 block of Canterbury Drive.
Missing Person: The Hays Police Department received the report of a missing person Saturday night in the 400 block of East 19th Street. The report of the missing person was between 12:01 a.m. and 8:12 p.m. on Saturday.
Criminal Damage to Property: Officers investigated five report of damage to property over the weekend. The Hays PD investigated all incidents as criminal damage to property. The first was reported in the 300 block of East 16th Street Thursday at 10:00 p.m. and Friday morning at 6:00. The second report of damage to property was reported between Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. and Friday at 8:45 a.m. A third report of criminal damage to property in the 1300 block of Elm Street Friday night between 9:00 and 10:00. The fourth damage to property was reported in the 100 block of Main Street Saturday morning at 9:44. The final criminal damage to property report was in the 300 block of East 13th Street between Saturday afternoon at 1:00 and Sunday morning at 9:20.
Underage Possession: Hays Police officers conducted two under age possession of cereal malt beverage or liquor investigations. The first was reported in the 300 block of West 7th Street Friday morning at 12:24. The second was reported at 1:14 a.m. on Sunday in the 500 block of West 7th Street.
Motor Vehicle Accidents: Officers responded to four motor vehicle accidents over the weekend. The first was in the 100 block of West 7th Street Friday morning at 2:09. The second was with private property in the 700 block of Vine Street at 5:55 p.m. Friday. Another accident involving private property was reported between 1:10 and 1:15 p.m. Saturday in the 2500 block of Vine Street. The last accident was reported at 27uth and Hall Street Sunday afternoon at 3:16.
