(AP) A Canadian man is expected to soon learn his punishment for taking a 12-year-old Kansas girl he met on the Internet.

Stewart Kenneth Cody McGill, of Bewdley, Ontario, faces sentencing Wednesday in federal court in Wichita on a charge of traveling with intent to engage in illicit sexual conduct.

The 21-year-old man pleaded guilty in February under a deal with that will lock him up for eight years, if the judge accepts it.

Authorities say McGill traveled last year to El Dorado to meet the girl. They were found a few days later near Potterville, Mich.

The girl told authorities at the time she went with McGill willingly. Prosecutors say McGill told police he met the girl playing “World of Warcraft” online and loved her.
