
9:10 a.m. Update The K-State Ag Research Center South of Hays reported .54 inches of rain officially over the the past 24 hours. That gives us .74 for the month of May and 4.53 inches of moisture in 2013.
5:15 a.m. It was a stormy afternoon and evening across portions of western Kansas. Heavy rain, lightning and hail were reported. Ellis County had four separate Severe Thunderstorm Warnings.
Golf ball size hail or larger was reported North of Dighton, in Lane County and also in Ford County. Ness County had Ping Pong Ball size hail. Residents in Ellis reported Quarter size hail. Smaller hail was also reported across parts of Hays and in other areas of Ellis County.
Rainfall totals vary across Ellis County. Eagle Radio received .81 of an inch. Residents Ellis reported 1 inch of rain. Four miles west of Hays reported .60. Two miles west of Schoenchen reported .45. Catherine reported .84 and in Rush County, .90 was reported four miles north of LaCrosse. We will have the official totals from the K-State Ag research center as soon as they are available.
