Maddie Holub hit a first-pitch fastball over the left field wall. The three-run home run with two outs in the bottom of the seventh lifted the Fort Hays State softball team to a 5-2 come-from-behind win over Minot State and a spot in Sunday’s title game against Central Oklahoma at 1pm. FHSU (47-11) will need to beat the Bronchos twice to advance to next weekend’s Super Regional.

The Tigers grabbed the early lead with a run in the first on Courtney Dobson’s single to right field. Dobson doubled to open the seventh inning and scored the tying run on a Danie Brinkmann single to center.
The Beavers (41-11) grabbed a 2-1 lead on Tiffany Freisen’s two-run homer in the fourth. It was the last hit Holub would allow the rest of the game, retiring 11 of the final 14 batters with three walks.
Holub picks up her 29th win of the season allowing two runs on two hits, striking out 12 and walking four. Courtney Dobson had three hits and Jenna Lang added two.
