Huelskamp on IRS Inspector General Report (See the Report Here)

huelskamp.jpg– After reading the Inspector General’s report concerning the IRS’s illicit targeting of tea party and other conservative organizations between 2010 and 2012, Congressman Tim Huelskamp (R-Kansas) issued the following statement:
“The report was more scathing than initial media reports indicated. It reveals a rogue Administration corrupted by politicization and lawlessness. With the addition of IRS-gate, APphonetap-gate, and Benghazi-gate to the list of scandals that besiege the White House, the legacy of the 44th President is beginning to bear an uncanny resemblance to that of the 37th President. His new moniker could be ‘Barack O’Nixon’ (#BarackONixon). May God help us all when the demonstrably dysfunctional and untrustworthy IRS is entrusted with enforcing the Obamacare trainwreck.”

A few highlights:

Victims were targeted for being conservative by name or because they want to “make America a better place to live” or “criticize how the country is being run.”
There were unnecessary delays to the point of giving these groups the right to sue.
The requests for unnecessary information included seeking the names of donors and political affiliations of members.
