A 34-year-old Lyons man was sentenced Wednesday to 17½ years in prison after pleading no contest to charges of rape and aggravated indecent liberties.

Jeffrey S. Redding was sentenced to a total of 210 months in prison by Chief Judge Mike Keeley in Rice County District Court.

Keeley also ordered Redding to lifetime registration as a sex offender, lifetime post-release supervision and lifetime electronic monitoring.

Redding pleaded no contest to the charges in February.

The charges stemmed from an investigation by the Lyons Police Department.
