KBI: Multi-County Drug Sting Continues

On May 8th and 9th, 2013, the Geary County Attorney’s Office, Junction City Police Department,
Geary County Sheriff’s Office, Riley County Police Department, Grandview Plaza Police
Department, and the Kansas Bureau of Investigation announced that 54 search warrants had been
served and 90 people had been arrested as part of Operation ADABAG, dismantling a large
crack cocaine trafficking organization under investigation over a 13-month period. This activity
took place in Geary and Riley Counties and it was stated that further arrests were expected.
Connected with that investigation, on May 16th and 17th, 2013, the Geary County Attorney’s Office, Junction City Police Department, Geary County Sheriff’s Office, Grandview Plaza Police Department, Topeka Police Department, and the Kansas Bureau of Investigation executed one search warrant in Olathe, Kansas and three search warrants in Topeka, Kansas. During these operations quantities of cocaine, crack cocaine, methamphetamine, marijuana and pills were seized along with five people being arrested. In addition one child was placed in protective custody after his/her parent was arrested, and two loaded handguns and four additional vehicles were seized.

This brings the totals for the operation to the following:
58 search warrants executed in four counties
18 children displaced
18 firearms seized
$42,907.63 seized
23 vehicles seized
100 persons arrested
The investigation is continuing and additional arrests are expected.
