On May 20, 2013, officers of the Hays Police Department were dispatched to the parking lot of Wal-Mart, 4301 Vine Street, for the report of a robbery and purse snatching. The 62 year old victim reported that while she was loading merchandise from a shopping cart into her vehicle, a tan or gold mid-90’s model Chevrolet Monte Carlo, with out-of-state registration plates, pulled up beside her. A white male exited the vehicle and grabbed the victim’s purse. A short struggle over the purse ensued. Eventually, the male suspect was able to take control of the purse and left in the Monte Carlo. The vehicle was last seen traveling south on Vine Street.

The white male suspect was last seen wearing a white tank top, blue jeans, and a black hat. The male was believed to be between 5’8” and 5’10” tall and approximately 30-40 years of age. The vehicle is believed to have been driven by a white female with longer brown hair.
