Saturday’s Tornado Upgraded

The National Weather Service has now upgraded Saturday’s Pawnee County tornado to an EF 4. The tornado touched down at 7:18 p.m. six miles southwest of Rozel, lasted over 30 minutes traveling approximately seven miles. The maximum estimated wind speed was 165-185 miles per hour with a maximum width at 1100 yards. The tornado caused damage over a path as wide as five eights of a mile. Considerable damage was done to trees, and power poles. A home 2.5 miles southwest of Rozel lost most of its roof and some exterior walls. Nobody was injured.
