The two Western Kansas American Red Cross Emergency Response Vehicles (ERVs), including the one based in Hays, are traveling through the tornado-affected areas in Oklahoma with food and supplies.
The ARC volunteers are also opening 10 emergency aid stations and 11 fixed feeding sites.
Both ERVs were deployed to Shawnee, Oklahoma Thursday. The ERVs are being accompanied by four volunteers from Kansas– three volunteers from Hutchinson and one from Hays, Pete Peterson.
The volunteers will be gone for approximately two weeks and will help deliver food and supplies to the tornado affected areas.
