A tornado with wind speeds estimated at 150 miles per hour was responsible for damage Northeast of Smith Center on Monday evening. Official word on how much damage will be reported today.

Near Esbon In Jewel County a tornado caused damage to three homes. Nobody was injured.

Tornadoes were also reported in portions of North East Kansas. In Marysville, a twister caused major damage to a John Deere dealership. The building on highway 36 in Marshall County suffered extensive damage. Four other homes and businesses were also damaged. No injuries were reported.
