There were numerous reports of severe weather across the state on Wednesday. A tornado was reported 3 miles west of Grainfield just before 6 p.m. It did minor damage. Another tornado in Finney County, south of Garden City, briefly touched down.
Various sizes of hail was also reported in many areas of western Kansas along with some 60 and 70 mile an hour wind gusts but no major damage reported. Portions of the state are under flood watch this morning and Southeastern Ness County and Hodgeman counties are under a flood warning this morning.
Rainfall totals in Ellis County varied but were less than .35 The official rainfall total from the K-State Ag Research Center for the past 24 hours was .25 and 1.75 inches for the Month of May and 5.54 inches have been received in 2013.
