Former Fort Hays State University Police Chief Sid Carlile died Sunday in a farming accident.
Carlile retired from FHSU in 2004, after serving 32 years. He started his law enforcement career in Victoria in 1971 as a city marshal.
The 66-year-old Carlile was killed June 9 on the family farm near Fowler.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Hays; burial in Fowler Cemetery at a later date.
There will be a parish vigil service at 6:30 p.m. tonight at Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, 20th and Pine. Friends can call from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to Sid Carlile Memorial Fund to be used for youth hunts with Pheasants Forever in his name and memory.
