A special meeting Tuesday regarding the Ellis County 2014 budget went nowhere.

Ellis County Commission Chairman Dean Haselhorst was absent, and three department heads brought up budget concerns.

Commissioners Swede Holmgren and Barbara Wasinger agreed another meeting is necessary.  It’s scheduled for 3p.m. Friday in the building at 718 Main.

The most recent budget draft is $21.7 million, which may require a tax increase, according to County Administrator Greg Sund.
