On Wednesday afternoon, the City of Hays Fire Department, Police Department and Ellis County EMS were dispatched to a building fire at Carlos O’Kelly’s Mexican Café, 4107 Vine Street.

On arrival, firefighters found a small fire burning in the same location as the Monday fire. Firefighters opened up the wall and quickly extinguished the fire. The most probable cause of the fire was the re-energizing of the same electrical circuit that caused the fire on Monday.

The restaurant suffered only minor damage. The restaurant has reopened for business.
