The McPherson County Commission voted Thursday to proclaim that in McPherson County a State of Local Disaster Emergency exists.

This is one of the first steps in the process of potentially receiving assistance for public infrastructure and other public needs.

Effective immediately all contractors operating in Lindsborg must register with the City of Lindsborg. This is for all work requiring a building permit.

This measure is being taken to protect the citizens of the community from fraudulent contractors and scam artists.

The City has approved waiving all building permit and inspection fees associated with flood related repairs, renovation and rehabilitation.

The building permit fees have been waived but building permits are required.
