Central Kansas Flooding

Heavy rains late Thursday night and early Friday morning, brought flooding to portions of central and north central Kansas.Flash flood warning

Two to more than five inches of rain fell across Cloud, Clay, Dickinson, and Marion counties. Street flooding was occurring in Clay Center and Chapman.

The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office dispatched a water rescue to the area of K-18 and Fair Avenue just after 4 am Friday.

In Chapman, street flooding on 6th street with water up to the door jams on cars parked along the street.

Law enforcement reporting several streets in Clay Center had high water, as well as several county roads.

The National Weather Service in Wichita, reported estimates of 2-3 inches of rain had fallen over parts of Marion County early Friday.

With more rain in the forecast, the National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch for portions of central Kansas through Sunday.
