Kansas Insurance Commissioner Sandy Praeger and another top official from her agency are scheduled to tour seven cities in the state in September to answer the public’s questions about the federal health care overhaul ahead of the planned launch of the law’s new health insurance exchange.
In Hays, meetings are planned at 2 p.m. Sept. 23 at Hays Medical Center’s Hadley conference rooms. Another meeting will follow at 7 p.m. the same day in Fort Hays State University’s Memorial Union ballroom.
Officials will present an overview of the Affordable Care Act and demonstrate how the new online marketplace will work.
According to federal estimates, there are approximately 327,000 uninsured Kansans who could receive health coverage through the new marketplace.
