One hundred mile per hour winds from Thunderstorms that swept across the state did considerable damage in several Kansas counties on Monday night. In Pratt, the regional airport reports significant damage and there are trees and power poles down across the community.
Power was also out in portions of Butler, Bourbon, and Harvey County. Ness and Lane County also received reports of high winds and some wind damage.
A brief tornado was reported north of Goodland on Monday along with several dozen reports of up to 2-inch size hail in Sherman, Wallace and Ford County
Rainfall amounts were 1-2 inches, not the 5 and 6 inches that caused the flooding over the weekend. However a flood watch is in effect through Thursday for portions of central Kansas including Barton, Russell, Chase, Ellsworth, Lincoln, Marion, McPherson, Rice, and Saline Counties. Most of south Central and southeast Kansas is also under a flood watch through Thursday.
