Just before midnight on Saturday the City of Hays firefighters were dispatched to a house fire at 1701 Henry.

On arrival, firefighters found the house fire fully involved coming through the roof of the house. The fire department had the ladder truck aerial and deck gun with two hose lines in service. The house sustained a large amount of fire damage.

The cause of the fire is being investigated by the state fire marshal. The fire crews were assisted by the City of Hays Police Department and Ellis County EMS, Ellis County Rural Fire Department, Emergency Manger, and Midwest Energy.
