(AP) — Authorities say a Kansas City, Kan., man drowned in a city lake.

Kansas City, Kan., authorities identified the victim of Sunday’s drowning as 58-year-old Alvino R. Piersey.

He was in Big 11 Lake Sunday evening when he went under water and did not resurface.

Piersey’s body was recovered a short time after rescue swimmers entered the water.
