12: 10 p.m. KDHE released this emergency order of suspension on Friday and made it public today.

 

11: 40 a.m.  The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) has issued an Emergency Order of Suspension to a day care home at 2405 Virginia Drive in Hays, licensed under the name Michelle Sarver Day Care Home.

State law allows the Secretary of KDHE to issue such an order when, in the opinion of the Secretary, the order is necessary to protect children in the home from any substantial threat to health or safety. The order is subject to appeal.

 

 

9:30 a.m.The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) has confirmed to Hays Post that a daycare on Virginia Drive in Hays has been closed.

Few details are currently available.

KDHE did tell Hays Post today that state law allows the Secretary of KDHE to issue an order to close a day care, when in the opinion of the Secretary, “the closing is necessary to protect children from any substantial threat to health or safety.”  KDHE is expected to report more information soon.
