Cox (6-0, 191) has seen action in 29 games in four NFL seasons with the Jacksonville Jaguars (2008-09) and Seattle Seahawks (2010-11). He owns 10 tackles (five solo), 0.5 sacks, two passes defensed and one fumble recovery. Cox originally entered the NFL as a seventh-round draft selection (251st overall) of the Buffalo Bills in 2008, but was released before the season and added to the Green Bay Packers practice squad roster on Oct. 27, 2008. He was claimed off the Packers practice squad by the Jaguars in December of 2008 where he spent two seasons on and off the club’s active roster. In April of 2010, Cox joined the Seattle Seahawks where he primarily served on the club’s practice squad until March 13, 2012. The Miami, Fla., native played collegiately at Pittsburgh where he appeared in 47 games, totaling 98 tackles and two interceptions. He prepped at Miami Killian High School where he played wide receiver and quarterback.

Kilgore (6-1, 230) originally entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Oakland Raiders in 2012. He spent the 2012 training camp with the Raiders before being released prior to the regular season. The Orrick, Mo., native played in 57 games at Northwest Missouri State, recording 392 tackles (165 solo), 7.0 sacks (-36.0 yards), five interceptions, 12 passes defensed and three forced fumbles. He prepped at Excelsior Springs High School in Excelsior Springs, Mo.

The Kansas City Chiefs were hard at work again on Wednesday as they look forward to the end of training camp tomorrow. Below you will see quotes from Head Coach Andy Reid. Every Chiefs game will be heard on 96.9 KFIX.

Chiefs Head Coach Andy Reid

OPENING STATEMENT: “Alright, really Jamaal Charles is the only one that we’ll probably need to talk about. He’s getting better. He worked out today doing position play work. He’s just not quite there yet. He is making progress and feeling a lot better. If push comes to shove, he probably could have gone today, but we kept him out. We’ll see how he does in the next couple of days. I haven’t determined anything about whether he’ll play or not play. We’ll take it day by day. If he can play, he’ll play, if he can’t play, then he won’t. We finished up today with a 10-10-10 practice. So we got some good situational work. Still one’s versus one’s, two’s versus two’s, three’s versus three’s. We picked out specific things for them to work on. I thought it was a good day.”

Q: Now that you have finished with the St. Joe portion of camp, are you happy with what you were able to get done?

REID: “I appreciate the attitude of the players, how they came to work. They did it every day and they were tested. I thought they stepped up and maintained their focus. We got a lot of plays in and that will be important down the road here. We were able to accomplish quite a bit here. “

Q: Did you have to adjust to some of the things you thought you wanted to do coming into camp based off of what you’ve done in the past?

REID: “As far as the facility?”

Q: No, what you wanted to do with the team.

REID: “No. We were able to load them up and do what we needed to do. We kept the practices in the morning. The on-field practice in the morning and we did the walk through inside. I thought everything was really productive.”

Q: It’s just a preseason game, but it’s going to be pretty interesting for Alex. Is he the kind of guy that can handle that maybe better than most people?

REID: “I think he’ll handle it. He’s going to know a lot of people obviously, so there will be that part of it. Guys that he hasn’t seen in a few months. Once it’s all said and done it’s playing the game. I think he’ll handle that fine.”

Q: What about the starters? How much do you think they’ll play?

REID: “I’ll go one more time with the coaches, but there will be an increase with the ones. How long? I couldn’t tell you that today. I’ll get it to you tomorrow. “

Q: Akeem Jordan was out?

REID: “Right. He had a personal matter he had to take care of.”

Q: Expect him back tomorrow?

REID: “Yeah, he’ll be back tomorrow.”

Q: We’ve seen Dwayne Bowe through camp, three weeks up here.

REID: “He came back in good shape and he hasn’t missed a day. He’s worked his tail off. He’s a good player and I think we all know that. He’s continued to work aggressively every day.”

Q: Are you satisfied with what you’ve seen in Jon Baldwin?

REID: “Jon’s worked his tail off. I’ve been pleased with him. He comes in every day and he wants to get better. So from a coaching stand point, you can’t ask for more than that.”

Q: Are you going to continue training camp back in Kansas City?

REID: “We will get into our in-season schedule. We will feel out how that goes. It’s still training camp, with training camp rules. The actual schedule will change up just a little bit.”

Q: Will practices be similar to what you were doing out here before today?

REID: “They will be in pads and be hitting. There won’t be the same live periods that we had here. Those are done. “

Q: Will you work off cards next week?

REID: “There were no cards.”

Q: Overall are you pretty happy with an uneventful camp aside from the Jamaal Charles injury? You’ve really avoided a lot of distractions up here. Is that nice?

REID: “It helps with the university and the setup here. They have been phenomenal. The people here, I can’t say anything but good things. From the guys that take care of the field, these fields are incredible, to the food. The food is unbelievable. The people who take care of the rooms for the players, they’re clean, they make your bed, they do everything for you. It’s quite a setup. They bend over backwards for us. Whatever we needed we were able to get. With that, I think the players can focus in on their job and it eliminates some of the things you get into with other distractions. I think it starts with the university here. What a great setup here. I’m happy with the setup here. I look at this school and it’s an incredible situation for us.”
