The Kansas Bureau of Investigation has been busy in Barton County this week. On Monday, the Barton County Sheriff’s Department found a large quantity of drugs at a location in Great Bend. Wednesday they found more drugs and are currently looking for the owner.

According to Barton County Sheriff Brian Bellendir, deputies and the KBI conducted a search of a storage building in the 1600 block of Jefferson Street in Great Bend.

They recovered in excess of 200 units of a schedule IV prescription drug and other suspected controlled substances. The building was not occupied and no arrests were made, but Bellendir says he expects arrests and formal charges to be made in the very near future.
