Overnight Storm Damage Update

Some violent weather rolled through parts of the state on Thursday afternoon and evening. The cleanup will begin in several north central Kansas counties today.

Heavy rain, high winds and hail did damage from Junction City and Abilene, to McPherson and Wichita.

Junction City and the Fort Riley area had over 3 inches of rain in a short period of time, which caused flash flooding.

A flood warning continues for McPherson and Saline County until early Friday afternoon. McPherson had another 1.47 inches of rain on Thursday.

There were numerous reports of large hail from the storms in Thomas, Logan, and Decatur County and hail up to the size of golf balls near Brookville.
