A sixty-year old northwest Kansas man was critically injured in a Monday morning truck accident. According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, Robert Allen Nelson of Grinnell was driving a 2004 Freightliner Semi truck west on U 24, 8 miles east of Hoxie on Monday morning.

The truck went into the north ditch, then Nelson overcorrected and the truck began sliding sideways, swapped ends and overturned 1 time in the south ditch, coming to rest facing southeast.  Nelson was transported from the scene to Sheridan County Hospital and then flown to a hospital in Wichita. He was not wearing a seat belt.
