UPDATE Power lines down (VIDEO)

1:25 p.m.  According to Midwest Energy Corporate Communications Manager Mike Morley, “A truck moving a mobile home had a boom up and caught overhead cable wires and pulled down 3 power poles. Nobody was injured and no residents in the area were without electricity”

Crews continue to work at the scene of the accident. The intersection at 6th and Riley reopened at 1:23 p.m.

12:39 p.m.  Midwest Energy crews have shut down power to all the lines except to those near 5th and Riley. Hays Police is working traffic control in the area.

 

12:23 p.m. Midwest Energy has been contacted and will have employees on the scene.

 

12:18 p.m. Hays Fire Department has been dispatched to 6th and Riley. A vehicle has hit a power pole and power lines are down in the area.  Stay tuned to Eagle Radio and  Check Hays Post for more information as it becomes available.
