According to the Barton County Sheriff’s office, 39-year old Matthew Walton was arrested after he left the scene of a one vehicle accident that took place Friday at SW 20th avenue and SW 30th road

The Sheriff’s office says Walton was Northbound on SW 20th avenue when his 1982 Chevy Caprice missed the curve and went into the ditch on the North side of the curve, struck a power pole and then rolled onto its top.  The accident was discovered by workers from Midwest Energy as a result of some power outages in the area.

Walton was located at a residence in Great Bend and had minor injuries.  He was arrested at that time for leaving the scene.  The accident remains under investigation.
